Michael Jackson Custom Sneakers – Tribute to the King of Pop
We made these custom sneakers strictly as a tribute. This was not an order or anything requested by a customer but just our way of saying Rest In Peace to the King of Pop. You have probably noticed the difference between shoes that we do just to showcase our depth versus custom sneaker orders from customers (artwork on both the outside AND inside of the kicks. I’d say over 60 hours of work went into these custom kicks and multiple artists worked on them.

We set out to give a summary of MJ’s musical career on one pair of kicks so you will see images of Mike as a child and all the way up to how we last remembered him. Every time you look at these shoes you will discover small things we did to tribute the King of Pop from album covers to famous pictures of him, to bezzle bumps added on his jacket on down to his infamous socks being incorporated into the inside of the shoe!

We did an interview with the Artists that worked on these, enjoy!
Pmk: What sets these custom sneakers apart from other jobs you’ve done in the past?
Pmk: Where did the idea for the design come from?
Jrow: I reached out to Swiddle to collaborate on the project because I wanted to design the next big pair of custom shoes that could measure up to the quality of the Joker customs. First, we both agreed that we wanted to make them bright and colorful just to attract more eyes, like Mike always did. After that we each researched some images that we thought could represent our own response to Michael’s work. We took the outer-space theme from the game and ran with it then put the Born 2 Shine touch on them by splashing the strings and painting the box.
Switz: Threw some glitter in there along with the dots and painted the insole as well. These are far from your typical custom job. We also made it an issue to show the many different stages of his career to commemorate his life as an entertainer and celebrated philanthropist.
Pmk: How long did they take to complete?
JRow: You know one day we sat down and we actually had to wrap our minds around doing a pair of feets to celebrate Michael. I wasn’t going to put our name on anything that wasn’t the real deal. We spent a good 52 total hours on the pair over a little less than a week. Understand, this is my full-time job.
Pmk: What’s the price tag on the King of Pop customs?
Switz: I think we’re holding off on that for now. I’m eager to see what kind of response they get. We’re really trying to show people we’re the best of the best.
Pmk: So how soon can you top the King of Pop customs?
JRow: If you think thats the best we got, you better think twice. We’ve done like 15 pairs since then and none of them are whack. So when they hit the net, the people can judge for themselves. If you find someone better, let me know.
